Overseas Property & IHT

asked by Jo 1234 posted 11 Months ago at 9:06
More of a tax than property question, but I'm thinking of buying a freehold residential property over here in the Thailand. I am a non UK resident.

What might be an effective method of buying the property to help mitigate UK IHT? Via a company, or a trust in my sons name? or something else?

maybe purchase property via a non UK domiciled person such as your wife? Its a non UK asset so would then be outside UK IHT. Better to ask an expert though....
