Can my ex remove money from joint account

My ex and I have a joint bank account. We split 6 months ago and I put my salary into the account being the only account held. I don't have a good credit history so can't open a new account.

Can my ex legally take out money or transfer money from this account?

Yes your ex can, go to your bank immediately and explain. I'm sure they will let you open new account.
