Can I use my own solicitor in connection with a purchase of commercial property for my SIPP

As far as I'm aware you can use your own solicitor (and valuer). But best to check with your provider first, they might have their own rules on this. J

I have used a couple of different providers for SIPP Commercial Property purchase schemes. In both instances the client was able to appoint their own solicitors. Interestingly, howewer, one company was happy to use a single solicitor to represent both purchaser & seller, whereas another SIPP provider insisted on appointing two solicitor firms to represent each party. On the basis of efficiency and cost, i'd recommend looking for a provider willing to use the single solicitor option.
