This may be a bit of a random question but is it possible to obtain a copy of the deeds for a property that you don't own?

If it is Registered land you can get a copy of the plan and registry certificate (which replaces the Deeds) from https://www.landregistry.gov.uk/wps/portal/Property_Search by paying £4 for each.
