What's the best way to get a return from short term cash?

Hello there i will be holding funds of £250k for approximately 6-9 months as this money is for the purchase of a UK property, at the moment its sitting in a current account, is there anything i can do with it for this relatively short period of time to make better use of it? Many thanks in advance.
