Receiving money from the US to my student account

Hi i am studying in the uk at the moment and hope to stay here indefinitely. I'm a US citizen but have now opened a HSBC student account. My parents want to send me cash, approx £2500 a month for living and rent, can anyone foresee any problems with this? I don't want to get in trouble with customs or anything like that.
