Total Investor has a simple aim - to make life easier for consumers, investors and professional advisers. It features a number of easy to use tools for consumers which allows them to access professional advice as well as simple, straight to the point editorial comment.
We do accept advertising, but everything else on the site is absolutely free to both consumer and basic profiles for the professionals - and that includes our tools and commentary!
We're independent and objective and we aim to be constantly useful!
The site is powered by ITM Limited based in the City) and is headed by Steve Weiss, an industry veteran with years of experience in developing state-of-the-art systems for financial professionals and institutions including FTSE100.
The inspiration for the site came over a very long cup of coffee or 10 at Nero with the realisation that no one single website acted as a focal point for both investors and advisers, and thus Total Investor was born in the winter of 09 !
In March 2010 Total Investor softly launched to the professional intermediary community.
In September 2010, Total Investor began to include the multi-discipline presence of other professional individuals and groups connected with financial matters - legal, tax & accounting, property related including architects and surveyors, actuarial and corporate.
In October 2010, as part of our growth, Steve Pett brought with him IFAbonus and Find a Pro and the thousands of registered IFA members to provide his members with increased profile and functionality and the consumer with an enhanced number of IFA specialists and other professionals to chose from and read about. Bringing our professional membership to over 8,000 and making TI one of the fastest growing and largest (multi-discipline) financial business media portals in the UK.
In June 2011 we brought in three new features Groups, Connect and Events.
By January 2012 our professional expert membership passed 10,000
