We're two communities in one - an online resource that helps both the consumer/sme's and professionals in separate but integrated sections – and we’re totally independent!
Our job is to bring these two worlds together, helping consumers and sme's find information, search for professionals, talk to the professionals and with each other peer-to-peer. Professionals can engage with each other and profile themselves to consumers.

But there's yet another reason why we're different - this web site we hope is simple to use and we are constantly updating features. A good example of this is that both Professionals and Consumers/sme's have their own dedicated sections of the web portal. Here you can connect, create and join groups, post and view events and read across a range of financial, investment, pension, legal, accounting and property related matters, both personal finance and corporate.
We’ve got useful comment from a growing number of contributors which already exceeds over 200 bloggers alone, across a range of topics. You’ll find our regular columns informative and always provocative ! About Us
The inspiration for the site came over a very long cup or ten at Nero in the summer of 2009 with the realisation that no one single website acted as a focal point for both consumers & sme's and the professionals, but also with their own community and thus Total Investor was born in the winter of 09 !
In March 2010 Total Investor softly launched to the professional intermediary community.
In September 2010, Total Investor began to include the multi-discipline presence of other related professional sectors; legal, tax & accounting, property related (including architects and surveyor)s, pensions, actuarial and corporate where working with;
- personal finance/private client
- corporate/business
- and lifestyle matters
In October 2010, as part of our growth, Steve Pett brought with him IFAbonus and Find a Pro and thousands of registered members to provide his members with increased profile and functionality and the consumer with an enhanced number of IFA specialists and other professionals to chose from and read about. Bringing our professional membership to over 8,000 and making TI one of the fastest growing and largest (multi-discipline) financial business media portals in the UK.
In June 2011 new features were created such as Groups, Connect, Events and our registered professional membership passed 9,000!
By January 2012 professional membership passed 10,000 with over 300 professional content contributors.
