The revised examination syllabus requires advisers giving retail financial advice to the public, to increase their knowledge from NVQ level 3 (broadley 'A' level) to level 4 (broadley first year degree level). The section of the FSA examination syllabus, from which all the UK exam bodies will develop their exams, is detailed below.
Demonstrate an understandiong of the merits and limitations of the main investment theories covering:
. Key features of the main investment theories: . Modern portfolio theory
. Multi-factor model
. Efficient market hypothesis
. Capital asset pricing model (CAPM)
. Portfolio theory, diversificatin and hedging: . Correlation between asset classes
. Total return and an awareness of beta and alpha
. Risk adjusted returns
. Basic of behavioural finance - market and individual behaviours
In this webinar all these aspects and strategies of investing are discussed.
The webinar lasts about 30 minutes and there will be up to a further 20 minutes available for a Q&A session. After the session the webinar, excluding the Q&A, will be available on demand.
There is an online test at the end of this webinar and is set at level 4 (required by the FSA syllabus). After sitting the test a CPD certificate will be automatically generated by your records.
